Featuring Guest Speaker
Danielle Schaeffer
Disability Ministry Director
Christ Church Oak Brook
Born, raised, and currently living in Naperville, Danielle Schaeffer is a 42-year old, post-Evangelical, divorced mother, raising a disabled son. Brought up in the church, she attended a private college, earning a degree in family ministry. For the past 20 years, Danielle’s personal and professional journey led her to working for churches in both children/youth and disability ministries.
According to Danielle, during difficult times in her life she depended on hope to see her through the pains of divorce, disability diagnoses, and failure. Throughout her many challenges, she felt a sense of joy and excitement in building new dreams of family, raising a son, and pursuing new relationships. As she works with families and their disabled children, she see pieces of herself in their stories. Danielle walks alongside them as they pick up pieces of their lives scattered by uncertainty and build new dreams with hope.
